The Maryland State Golf Association is looking for talented and well-rounded applicants with experience in sports and/or data collection to fulfill a 2026 USGA P.J. Boatwright Member Services familiarity with core services including the World Handicap System (WHS) Rules of Handicapping Course Rating System and GHIN through in-person training / engagement with staff and virtual educationPerform course ratings at golf courses as part of a Course Rating team of staff and volunteersSupport the Director of Handicapping & Course Rating with various aspects of Course Rating administration including but not limited to golf course measurement data entry generating Course Rating forms and reports auditing Course Rating database and records and volunteer engagementRespond to inquiries within the HubSpot platform related to WHS Course Rating and other core general telephone and email inquiries of MSGA members and member clubsSupport the Director of Member Services with membership administration and engagement / retention initiativesAssist with other MSGA tournaments and events as neededSupport the efforts of all MSGA staff members as neededRequirements A college degree (completed or in progress) is preferred but not requiredA comfort working numbers and data and natural interest in analytical detail is preferredStrong written and verbal communication and organization skills requiredOn-site Course Rating days with flexible hoursWillingness to travel within the state and able to work outside in various weather conditionsProficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is essentialThe selected individual must arrange their own housing in the area and provide their own must attend orientation (funded by the USGA) in Liberty Corner NJ or apparel will be providedAbility to work from MSGA HQ in Lutherville-Timonium MDPosition: 2026 USGA P.J.
