Job Summary


AVP Enterprise Sales


Our leadership and product team are based in India. To scale in the US market we need a US-based sales leader who can:

  • Access decision-makers at pharma/biotech CI and Commercial Strategy functions through existing relationships
  • Operate in US timezones to respond quickly to prospect needs
  • Represent Anervea at industry conferences and networking events
  • Bring credibility from having worked in or sold to the pharma CI space


Location: United States (Remote East Coast preferred).

The Ideal Candidate Profile


We are looking for someone with a specific combination of domain expertise and sales experience. The ideal candidate has:

  • 10-15 years in the pharma/biotech industry with significant exposure to Competitive Intelligence Commercial Strategy or Market Access functions
  • Experience at a CI-focused consulting firm or CI platform vendor selling into pharma.
  • A personal network of 15-20 CI or Commercial Strategy leaders they can reach directly.
  • Proven ability to close enterprise deals ($200K ACV) with complex sales cycles.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to build a sales function from the ground up.

Pharma/Biotech (CI or Commercial Strategy roles):


Look for former VP/Director of Competitive Intelligence Commercial Strategy or Strategic Insights who have moved to vendor or consulting roles.


Screening Criteria


Must-Have:


  • Direct experience selling to or working within pharma CI/Commercial Strategy functions
  • Demonstrable network of relationships with CI leaders at target pharma/biotech companies
  • Track record of closing enterprise software or consulting engagements ($200K deals)
  • Based in the US preferably East Coast (Boston NJ Philadelphia Research Triangle)


Nice-to-Have:


  • Experience at an early-stage company or building a sales function
  • Understanding of AI/ML applications in life sciences
  • SCIP (Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals) membership or involvement


Red Flags:


  • Pure SaaS sales background with no pharma/life sciences experience
  • Unable to articulate specific relationships they can leverage


Interview Process

  1. Recruiter Screen: Confirm experience fit compensation expectations and motivation. Shortlist candidates and send profiles to Anervea ().
  2. Anervea Review: Yash Choudhary reviews candidates and shortlists for CEO interview.
  3. CEO Interview: Ayush Mishra conducts interview including network mapping evaluation (candidate discusses 15-20 CI/Strategy leaders they can contact). Final decision made by Ayush.


Requirements:

  • Domain Expertise: 10 years in the pharma/biotech industry with deep familiarity with Competitive Intelligence Commercial Strategy Market Access or related functions. You understand the pain points because youve lived them or sold solutions to address them.

  • Relationships That Matter: A personal network of CI and Commercial Strategy leaders at US pharma/biotech companies. You can pick up the phone and get meetings with decision-makers.


  • Enterprise Sales Experience: Track record of closing $200K deals with 4-6 month sales cycles. Experience navigating multi-stakeholder buying processes procurement and legal review.


  • Startup Mentality: Willingness to build from scratch operate without a large support structure and move fast. Youre motivated by the opportunity to build something meaningful.

You may be a strong fit if youve worked at CI platform vendors or consulting firms such as Atacana Molekule Consulting PharmaEdge Prescient Deallus Medmeme Definitive Healthcare Evaluate or similar companies serving the pharma CI space. Alternatively you may have been a CI or Commercial Strategy leader at a pharma/biotech company who has transitioned to a vendor or consulting role.


What We Offer


Compensation Details

  • Base Salary: $160000 - $200000
  • Variable Component: $20000 - $50000 (performance-based)
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $220000 - $250000 (base variable when targets are met)
  • Equity: Equity participation opportunity available based on performance and contribution typically evaluated after first year
  • Benefits: Health insurance flexible PTO
