Purpose of the role
within ING Netherlands in the ODCR (Operational Design Control & Resilience) department the Community Ambassadors account manager contributes to strengthening the social impact by setting up expanding and coordinating an external network of community ambassadors. These ambassadors are connected to stakeholders with whom ING regularly discusses social issues such as discrimination.
Through this network relevant ING departments respond to external signals and perspectives allowing internal processes and practices to be proactively adapted to prevent societal issues such as discrimination. This role also includes preparing and participating in meetings between INGs Executive Board and external stakeholders to ensure alignment between strategy societal signals and internal follow-up.
This role is successful when there is a robust and diverse network of community ambassadors and actively involved. These ambassadors maintain regular contact with ING and its various departments effectively bringing the experiences and perspectives of their constituents into the organisation. The programme is recognised and valued within ING as a meaningful platform for mutual learning and reflection. At the same time it is also appreciated by the stakeholders and societal groups represented by the ambassadors as it allows them to share their context concerns and insights with ING in a meaningful way. This contributes to shared understanding helps ING to operate within a clearly defined social context ensures compliance with laws and regulations and prevents unnecessary internal overregulation.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and expand an external network of community ambassadors connected to societal stakeholders.
- Support and empower ambassadors in their role as change agents towards ING.
- Maintain relationships with organisations such as the Dutch Banking Association (NVB) trade associations social coalitions and knowledge institutions focused on anti-discrimination and inclusion.
- Representing ING in external working groups consultation structures and partnerships aimed at social impact.
- Prepare meetings between the ING Executive Board and external stakeholders and participate as a substantive and connecting representative.
- Identify social trends and external signals and translate these into policy advice or interventions within ING.
- Contribute to improving internal processes and working methods based on input from the external network.
- Document the progress impact and lessons learned from community initiatives and external collaborations.

- Strong command of English language and Dutch Language fluency preferred
