Job Description
We are seeking a highly experiencedJourneyman Network and Computer Systems Administratorto support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the Operations and Maintenance of US Customs and Immigration Service Network System. The successful candidate will provide intermediate-level network and systems administration to ensure high availability performance and security of USCIS enterprise systems and services.
This role involves hands-on management of USCIS network hardware and software including troubleshooting updates configuration and monitoring while adhering to federal standards and USCIS-specific policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
Support daily operations of the USCIS network and system infrastructure across multiple sites.
Install configure manage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux-based servers and networking equipment (e.g. Cisco Juniper).
Maintain Active Directory DNS DHCP GPOs and other core IT services.
Monitor network and system performance using tools like SolarWinds Splunk or similar.
Apply security patches and system updates in compliance with DHS/USCIS cybersecurity requirements (e.g. STIGs IAVAs RMF).
Implement and manage virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware Hyper-V) and cloud environments (e.g. AWS Azure).
Maintain accurate documentation of systems configurations and procedures.
Assist with incident response change management and system recovery efforts.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce security policies and perform vulnerability remediation.
Provide Tier II/III support and mentoring to junior team members.
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation as required.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required (per federal contract requirements).
Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
35 years of experience in network and systems administration.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP routing/switching VPNs and firewall configurations.
Experience managing Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
Familiarity with Linux administration (e.g. Red Hat CentOS Ubuntu).
Knowledge of NIST FISMA and DHS cybersecurity compliance standards.
Experience with system imaging backups and disaster recovery solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working on federal contracts preferably with DHS/USCIS.
Certifications such as CompTIA Security Network CCNA Microsoft Certified:
Azure Administrator Associate or VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
Experience supporting cloud migrations or hybrid environments.
Familiarity with ServiceNow Jira or other ITSM tools.
Pay Range
$90000 - $100000
