DescriptionThe CNC/ASM Machinist is responsible for setting up operating and maintaining CNC and automated machining equipment to produce high-quality precision parts. This role involves performing a wide range of machining operations conducting detailed quality inspections using standard and specialized measuring tools and supporting trial runs and experimental parts in collaboration with engineering teams. The machinist ensures adherence to safety standards maintains an organized work environment troubleshoots equipment issues and contributes to continuous improvement efforts in a high-quality manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities- Set-up operate and maintain a variety of CNC/ASM machines which perform a variety of operations such as but not limited to; boring reaming turning milling drilling tapping etc.
- Performs specified quality checks on piece parts trial run and experimental parts using a variety of standard and special measuring devices to maintain quality of parts produced.
- Perform diversified work when setting up and operating tape operated machines.
- Works with Engineering Personnel on trial run and special parts doing any type of job with or without Methods Layouts working from prints and Engineering sketches
QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE
- 1+ year(s) of experience in a CNC/ASM machining environment or 1800 hours of vocational machinist training with equivalent machine shop experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience in setting up operating and maintaining CNC/ASM milling and turning machines.
- Experience with quality control and assurance practices including the use of standard and special measuring devices to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Ability to perform a variety of operations such as boring reaming turning milling drilling tapping and other machining operations.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a machine shop setting including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards.
- Physical ability to lift average to heavy weight and work with oils cutting fluids and other materials.
