Job Summary

Connectivity Point Design and Installation has an immediate opening for a full-time Alarm Technician to support our commercial security operations throughout Maine. This role assists with the installation testing and support of electronic security systems including intrusion alarms CCTV and access control. Based on skills and experience the technician may also assist with customer training and system demonstrations.

This position requires a Limited Low Energy license or the ability to obtain one and involves regular travel within the state of Maine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of new commercial intrusion alarm CCTV and card access systems

  • Support system upgrades expansions and modifications

  • Assist with system testing commissioning and signal verification

  • Provide customer instruction on system operation and functionality as appropriate

  • Interpret and follow blueprints drawings notes and installation specifications

  • Operate hand tools and power tools; climb ladders; and use scissor lifts as required

  • Attend classroom and field training as assigned

  • Safely operate a company vehicle in compliance with company vehicle policies

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and report accidents hazards or equipment issues

  • Participate in team meetings and company-wide communications

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in alarm access control and/or CCTV installation or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Basic experience with commercial security systems preferred including:

    • Intrusion alarm systems

    • IP video surveillance systems

    • Access control systems

  • Experience with structured communications cabling strongly preferred

  • Basic understanding of building codes electrical codes and industry installation standards

  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation and construction drawings

  • Familiarity with construction environments and adherence to project schedules

Additional Requirements

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check

  • Ability to meet physical job demands including lifting climbing and extended periods on job sites
