Job Summary

An excellent and high-performing secondary school in Lancashire is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Leader of SEND to join its leadership team. This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to shape inclusive practice at a whole-school level and drive high-quality provision for students with additional needs.

The Role

As Senior Leader of SEND you will hold strategic responsibility for SEND provision across the school working closely with the Headteacher Senior Leadership Team and pastoral leaders to ensure that inclusion is embedded into teaching learning and school culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership for SEND across the school

  • Overseeing identification assessment and provision for students with SEND

  • Leading and developing SEND policy practice and whole-school inclusion

  • Managing and reviewing EHCPs and statutory processes

  • Line-managing the SENCo and SEND support staff

  • Using data to monitor progress outcomes and impact of interventions

  • Supporting and training staff to deliver high-quality inclusive teaching

  • Working closely with parents external agencies and local authorities

  • Ensuring compliance with SEND legislation and best practice
