Are you interested in contributing to the development of digital twin software for additive manufacturing (AM) of large-scale fibre composite structures
If so the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering Section of Manufacturing Engineering invites applicants for a postdoc position in the area of a digital twin for robotic 3D printing of continuous fibre composites (CFCs).
Responsibilities and qualifications
The research position is part of a project funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark which seeks to develop digital twin software that will enable virtual manufacturing for 3D printing CFC structures. The successful applicant will be a member of a larger team of university researchers working closely together with the major companies during this project which include robotic 3D printing solution providers and end users.
The research position aims at advancing the state of the art in the area of digital manufacturing of large-scale CFC structures. The main objective of the project is to develop a new curvilinear slicing software and control software and integrate them with a numerical model to build a digital twin of the robotic printing process.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 2 years. Preferably starting at 1 February 2026 or according to mutual agreement.
The working location will be DTU Construct Lyngby Campus.
