Location: Milbanke HFE Station Road Kirkham Preston PR4 2HA
Hours: 10.5 hours per week
Hourly Rate: 12.60 per hour
Rota Pattern:
- Week 1: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Saturday Sunday
- Week 2: Thursday and Friday
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to support the smooth and efficient running of the laundry service at Milbanke HFE. The successful candidate will ensure a high standard of cleanliness hygiene and garment care for residents and staff while working both independently and as part of the wider domestic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect sort wash dry iron and neatly fold laundry items including clothing bedding and towels.
- Operate laundry machinery (washers dryers irons) safely and efficiently.
- Follow correct procedures for handling soiled or contaminated laundry.
- Ensure laundry is returned to the correct residents promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels of detergents and laundry supplies and report shortages when needed.
- Adhere to all infection control health and safety and organisational policies.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents staff and visitors.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable punctual and committed to high standards.
- Basic understanding of health and safety and hygiene practices.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a laundry cleaning or housekeeping role.
- Experience working in a care or healthcare environment.
