Backend & AI Application Engineer

Responsibilities:

API & Service Design:

• Define and implement RESTful APIs with strong data contracts versioning pagination and error handling.
  
• Apply security best practices including OAuth2 JWT access control and input validation.
  
• Collaborate with frontend engineers on API contracts mock servers and integration patterns.
  

AI Feature Development:

• Research prototype and integrate AI/ML models and third-party services (OpenAI API LLMs embeddings RAG agentic systems).
  
• Implement semantic search vector stores retrieval pipelines and multi-agent workflows using LangChain LangGraph LlamaIndex and Weaviate.
  
• Optimize inference latency cost and reliability of AI services.
  

Testing Reliability & Quality:

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests for business logic and CRUD operations.
  
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes for production issues.
  
• Apply TDD and structured debugging practices.
  

Performance & Observability:

• Optimize API response times database queries and AI pipelines.
  
• Implement logging metrics tracing and alerts to ensure system observability.
  

Documentation & Handoff:

• Maintain OpenAPI/Swagger documentation Postman collections and internal service guides.
  
• Ensure frontend and QA teams have everything needed for smooth integration.
  

DevOps & Platform Collaboration:

• Work with DevOps on containerization orchestration and CI/CD (Docker Kubernetes pipelines).
  
• Support cloud deployments across Azure AWS and GCP.
  

Cross-Functional Leadership:

• Participate in retrospectives propose improvements and help evolve tooling architecture and processes.
  
• Mentor backend engineers when needed and share best practices.
