Grounds Person/Gardener
Grade 3 Pointper annum dependant on experience
Permanent all-year-round position
37 hours per week Monday Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Frome College is looking to appoint a grounds person/gardener to maintain our school grounds. The college grounds feature sports pitches as well as areas of lawn trees shrubbery and borders with different planting schemes. Working hours are Monday Thursday 8:30am 4:30pm and Fridays 8:30am 4pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
Working as part of a small team your main duties and responsibilities will include:
Preparing and maintaining sports pitches (rugby and football)
Operating and maintaining the grounds equipment and machinery
Providing a garden maintenance service including leaf clearance weeding spraying trimming and tidying of hedges trees and shrubs border tidying and planting
Preparation of the school site for events e.g. Open Days Parents Evenings

Be reliable hardworking and self-motivated with a can do approach to ensure the job is completed on time and to a high standard
Have good organisational skills
Have a friendly and helpful personality with a smart presentable appearance
