As a Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Technology team youare an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications on modern cloud-based technologies. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical architecture solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of project goals.
Job responsibilities
- Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs
- Defines the technical target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy
- Participates in architecture governance bodies
- Evaluates recommendations and provides feedback on new technologies
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering and architecture roles
- Proven track record in end-to-end system design application development testing and ensuring operational stability for complex platforms
- Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring framework with hands-on experience building enterprise-grade solutions
- Deep understanding and application of advanced software design principles including SOLID design patterns and architectural best practices
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing low-latency high-throughput distributed systems
- Extensive hands-on experience with middleware technologies such as Kafka MQ and other message brokers
- Strong knowledge of both relational databases (e.g. Oracle) and non-relational databases (e.g. Cassandra) including data modeling and performance optimization
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop Spark and Databricks
- Practical cloud native experience
- Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management abilities
