Description

The Temple Department is seeking a hard-working individual for the role of Clothing Clerk based at the Auckland New Zealand Temple. This is a fixed-term full-time position to cover a 6-month maternity leave approximately from 1 March to 1 September 2026. This position reports to the Temple Clothing Supervisor.

The Clothing Clerk helps provide a conducive environment a place where church members can worship learn pray make and renew sacred covenants and receive saving ordinances.

Responsibilities

Specific duties of the Clothing Clerk include cleaning and folding of clothing operating laundry machinery and arranging the necessary ordinance clothing for use in the temple by patrons workers and employees.

Qualifications

Has at least one-year laundry experience or relevant work-related skills
Has experience in ironing folding and repairing clothing items
Has a willingness to learn develop and undertake additional duties as assigned
Has health and safety knowledge and the handling and use of cleaning agents and chemicals
Has a good command of the English language (both written and verbally)
Excellent organisational and interpersonal to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
Can lift between 15 20 kgs
Has the flexibility to work 7.5-hour shifts from Tuesday to Saturday between 6am and 10pm.
