Your Position at St John of God Berwick Hospital
You will be an integral member of a nursing team to provide optimal patient care for all patients at St John of God Berwick their families and significant others. This care will be provided in collaboration with all members of the health care team including medical practitioners and allied health practitioners.
Join our team for a 12-month fixed-term Registered Nurse position (parental leave cover) working up to 46.8 hours per fortnight within our Day Surgery Unit.
Day surgery involves minor or elective procedures where patients are admitted and discharged on the same day. Procedures include colorectal investigations such as endoscopy and colonoscopy cataract extraction selected cardiac and vascular procedures as well as minor orthopaedic urological and general surgeries including hernia repair.
The Position
Embrace a competency driven practise utilising nationally recognised competencies to support care delivery i.e. ANCI.
Develop a nursing care plan for patients following an assessment of their condition and needs including risk assessment
Involve patients and where practicable their families or significant others in the planning of their care.
Ensure that all documentation relating to Patient Care and Clinical Pathways is maintained in an accurate and compliant manner
Participate in professional activities relating to and updating clinical skills including attending in-service and further education opportunities
Ongoing involvement in professional organisations and special interest groups.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate recent clinical experience in a relevant specialty.
To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team with analytical and teamwork skills.

The Benefits
Salary: $81995 to $103482 per annum (pro rata for part time) plus 12% superannuation
Permanent Part time role 46.8 hours a fortnight.
