About the role:
- Running high-quality criminal matters end-to-end (with support where it counts)
- Advising clients in sensitive high-pressure situations with absolute discretion
- Developing case strategy identifying pressure points and driving outcomes
- Preparing sharp written work: submissions court material advices correspondence
- Regular court appearances and negotiations (this is hands-on advocacy)
- Briefing and instructing counsel on larger/heavier matters as required
- Managing key stakeholder relationships and keeping clients calm informed and protected
- Mentoring juniors and lifting the standard across the team
The ideal candidate:
- 410 years PQE in criminal law (or strong litigation with meaningful crim exposure)
- Confident in court calm with pressure and excellent on the written work
- You present well and youre trusted with serious clients
- Commercial pragmatic judgement and strong instincts on strategy
- You care about quality and you want to be known for being sharp
