Lynwood CA - Retail shopESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all Ultrasonic Examination (UE) functions for Levels UE I.
Performs general house keeping and 6S.
Performs preventative maintenance on the cylinder stamping and paint systems
Inspects cylinders following standard procedures as required by government Airgas and distributor
standards. Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures such as checking for Visual defects
examining Valves Safeties and Caps.
Handles high-pressure industrial medical and specialty gas cylinders. Prepares high pressure cylinders for filling by other associates at fill plant. Makes sure that cylinders are properly inspected and
maintained to applicable standards.
Assists with the loading & unloading of cylinders on & off pallets trucks and tractor trailers. Operates a forklift pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
Manages paperwork to DOT OSHA and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets asrequired.
Understands hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting
cylinder labels CGA Valve type and the color-coding of tanks. Accurately labels cylinders.
Complies with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of
hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
Attends all training including; Safety DOT Basic cylinder handling AGU & UE.
Maintains a neat clean and orderly plant appearance.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Required Length & Type of Experience:
Minimum of 1 years of experience
Prior forklift operator experience and current training certificate issued by Airgas.
Excellent Visual Examination of Cylinders knowledge and skills
Very familiar with Airgas Manuals bulletins CGA documents and DOT regulations.
Strong background in gas welding and safety supply industry or chemical industry
preferred.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and
backgrounds.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong level of attention to detail.
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers
common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate ratio and percentages.
Ability to safely operate a forklift.
