POSITION SUMMARY
The Products Control Superintendent is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the assignedareaand the supervision of all Blending and Shipping personnel within the area. This position reports to the Area Team Manager.The Superintendent ensures that area personnel execute all work in the assigned area in a safe compliant and reliable manner.Direct reports mayincludeShift Supervisors Operations Excellence Specialist and off schedule Hourly Employees. The Products Control Superintendent is responsible for maintaining operating discipline: operating within boundaries supporting the refinery production plan following and enforcing company policies enforcing equipment care attention to detail and maintaining proper housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures personnel across all shift crews execute safe and efficient operation of assigned process units or tank farms.
  • Establishes and maintains culture of personal process safety an environmental excellence by modeling appropriate behaviors and ensuring compliance with all safety and operating policies and best practices. Looks for opportunities to improve the safety and environmental performance of the area.
  • Supervises and communicates day-to-day operations and work activities withinassigned areas to optimize production and ensure all product quality standardsare met. Identifies potential risk and opportunities proactively. Supportstroubleshooting and optimization that is beyond shift crewcapabilities. Manages unit performance and equipment availability andcommunicates to ensure safe efficient and effective implementation ofproduction plan.
  • Drives compliance with process safety management (PSM) requirementsincluding but not limited to Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) Management ofChange (MOC) and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) ensuring goodoperating practices are followed and have adequate Operations participation.
  • Achieves unit reliability and production goals through support and coordinationof maintenance capital projects and turnaround activities.
  • Supports a culture of high performance and personnel development throughtraining coaching and mentoring.
  • Recommends and/or provides input into development of methods andprocedures to improve Operational Excellence by driving OperationalDiscipline and a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Six (6) years or more relevant experience or four (4) years or more relevantexperience with an Engineering Degree is required.
  • A valid drivers license is required.
