About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to support the smooth and efficient running of the laundry service at Grove House. The successful candidate will ensure a high standard of cleanliness hygiene and garment care for residents and staff while working both independently and as part of the wider domestic team.

Key Responsibilities

Collect sort wash dry iron and neatly fold laundry items including clothing bedding and towels.
Operate laundry machinery (washers dryers irons) safely and efficiently.
Follow correct procedures for handling soiled or contaminated laundry.
Ensure laundry is returned to the correct residents promptly.
Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room and equipment.
Monitor stock levels of detergents and laundry supplies and report shortages when needed.
Adhere to all infection control health and safety and organisational policies.
Provide excellent customer service to residents staff and visitors.

Person Specification

Essential:

Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable punctual and committed to high standards.
Basic understanding of health and safety and hygiene practices.

Desirable:

Previous experience in a laundry cleaning or housekeeping role.
Experience working in a care or healthcare environment.
