One to three years experience in a similar setting desiredAbility to follow directions communicate effectively and work as part of a team.Patience flexibility and a commitment to supporting all learners.Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in challenging situations.Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination hearing; intermittent keyboarding use of wrists hands fingers speaking typing and writing. Frequent filing sitting standing and walkingOrganizational and multitasking skills computer software and hardware knowledge ability to use a computer for word processing spreadsheets and date bases and the ability to adapt to a frequently changing work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs circulation duties.
- Re-shelves library books.
- Prepares overdue library material notices. Assists the librarian in helping students and teachers with classroom research projects.
- Enters data into the computer for example inventory book records and supplemental reading books.
- Processes new library materials.
- Distributes library mail.
- Assists the librarian in maintaining the on-line and in-print catalog.
- Mends library materials.
- Maintains current inventory of all library materials and equipment..
- Supervises students in the library media center during the standard student day.
- Successfully completes First Aid CPR and SD Board of Nursing approved Medication Administration training and certification.
- Provides care/first aid for students with injury and/or illness. Care could be emergent or non-emergent in nature.
- Completes district accident reports.
- Provides care for students with chronic health conditions in accordance with students care plan as delegated by the school nurse. Care could be emergent or non-emergent in nature.
- Obtains authorization logs and dispenses medication to students as delegated by the school nurse.
- Processes student immunizations in accordance with SD state law and district procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains library computer labs equipment and video schedules.
- Order supplies for library and teacher workroom.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS OPTIONS
Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 30 minute unpaid lunch
Substitute Clerical HourlyRate: $20.45
Pay Day: Last working day of each monthbased on thepayroll cutoff schedule.
