Role Overview:
The Associate is an integral member of McChrystal Groups Implementation Practice the team that partners with senior executives through longer-term transformational engagements that blend leadership advisory process improvement and the design of systems that enable coordinated performance at scale.
Implementation teams help clients translate strategy into action by building the capabilities and operating rhythms that sustain results long after our engagement ends.
As an Associate you will support complex client engagements from diagnosis through execution contributing to discrete workstreams while learning the fundamentals of consulting implementation and client closely with more seasoned consultants in small cross-functional teams-developing analyses preparing client-ready materials supporting workshops and helping translate executive intent into practical action. Associates are expected to take initiative learn quickly and consistently deliver high-quality structured work in a fast-paced environment. Through close mentorship frequent feedback and direct exposure to senior client leaders and McChrystal Groups experienced practitioners Associates build the analytical communication and execution skillsrequiredto grow into more senior client-facing roles.

Key Responsibilities
- Client Delivery & Support
- Assist in executing project workstreams supporting alignment with client strategy and objectives.
- Help translate executive intent into practical operating models and decision systems.
- Contribute to project planning milestone tracking and risk identification.
- Gather and analyze data to support client recommendations and deliverables.
- Client Engagement & Sales Growth
- Participate in client meetings workshops and presentations learning to connect analysis to outcomes through clear communication.
- Build relationships with client stakeholders and support business development activities including opportunity identification and proposal preparation.
- Represent McChrystal Groups values and value proposition with professionalism and curiosity.
- Teamwork & Learning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams contributing to a culture of feedback learning and excellence.
- Seek mentorship from senior consultants and actively participate in internal training and development.
- Document and share learnings to strengthen the firms intellectual property.
- Business Acumen & Professional Development
- Support the development of ROI cases and impact measurements for client initiatives.
- Incorporate market and competitive insights into project work.
- Pursue ongoing personal and professional growth through mentorship client exposure and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelorsdegreerequired.
- 13 years of professional experience ideally including internships or entry-level roles in consulting sales or relevant private-sector environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced client-facing settings and deliver results as part of a team.
- Strong analytical communication and problem-solving skills.
- Eager to learn sales fundamentals and business development in a consulting context.
- Proficiencyin MS Office and comfort with data-driven storytelling.
- Comfortleveragingmodern AI-enabled productivity tools to accelerate analysis improve quality and enhance day-to-day consulting work.
- Ability and desire to travel up to75%.
