Job Summary

The newly created Vice President (VP) of Development will be a key member of Chiledas executive leadership team responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that advances Chiledas mission and fuels our growth from a regional leader to a nationally recognized organization.

Were seeking a visionary leader to build and head a new advancement department from the ground up. This role will establish and oversee grants donor relations major gifts and donor data systems-creating the structure processes and culture needed for long-term success. Its an opportunity to shape a high-impact program and lay the foundation for sustainable growth.

Our VP of Development will inspire generosity cultivate meaningful donor relationships and secure the resources needed to expand our impact nationwide. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker a relationship builder and a passionate advocate for Chiledas vision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree required with a minimum of five to seven years in nonprofit fundraising with three to five years in senior leadership.
  • Proven success in securing six-and seven-figure major gifts and experience building or scaling a development program.
  • Familiarity with regional/national donor cultivation and experience expanding a donor base from regional to national.
  • Capital campaign leadership experience.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Strategic planning and market expansion expertise.
  • Proficiency with donor CRM systems.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY: The standard hours for this remote role would be working full-time between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. This position may require working outside standard business hours including weekends and after hours to assist with business events and activities. Occasional travel will be required for attending events regionally and nationwide.

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

JOB DUTIES: The successful candidate will design lead and execute a comprehensive multi-year philanthropic strategy that fuels Chiledas mission sustains its programs and supports strategic growth - including capital improvements program innovation and national brand positioning. We are looking for a person capable of managing and building our program with proven experience in the following realms:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a multi-year philanthropic strategy that supports Chiledas transition from
  • regional to national prominence.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and engage the Board of Directors in donor cultivation solicitation and
  • stewardship activities.
  • Collaborate with the CEO COO VP of Finance and Board of Directors to integrate philanthropy into
  • organizational priorities and growth plans.

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Lead all fundraising initiatives including major gifts annual giving planned giving corporate partnerships and foundation grants - with a focus on expanding donor networks.
  • Identify cultivate solicit and steward major donors and prospects nationwide.
  • Oversee donor recognition programs and ensure a high-quality donor experience.

Community and Public Relations

  • Serve as a visible ambassador for Chileda in local regional and national arenas.
  • Represent Chileda at events conferences and donor gatherings across the country.

Donor Cultivation Stewardship and Fundraising Leadership

  • Develop and implement a nationally focused fundraising plan with clear revenue and engagement metrics.
  • Lead major gift planned giving and capital campaign strategies.
  • Oversee donor portfolio management ensuring a healthy pipeline at all giving levels.
  • Personally manage a portfolio of top prospects and donors.
  • Create tailored cultivation and stewardship plans for high-net-worth individuals corporate partners and
  • Host and attend donor events regionally and nationally.

Board Engagement

  • Partner with the board to expand their fundraising role and networks.
  • Establish relationships with philanthropic leaders and influencers nationwide.

Data and Systems

  • Oversee donor database accuracy reporting and analytics.
  • Use data to forecast revenue measure ROI and refine strategies.

In this role success will be measured not only by the establishment of a robust donor pipeline the implementation of effective fundraising systems and the cultivation of major donor relationships but also by the tangible impact these efforts create for Chiledas mission. By years three to five the expectation is that these foundations will generate a three to five x return on investment-translating into expanded services deeper community reach and life-changing opportunities for the individuals and families we serve.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those required of an employee to successfully perform the essential job duties of this position. The demands of this role are generally minimal as it is a fully remote desk-based position. The Vice President of Development will spend extended periods of time working at a computer including writing researching analyzing data and communicating via email phone and virtual meetings. The role requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods; use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other standard office equipment; and visually review digital documents and data. The position also requires the ability to concentrate for extended periods manage competing priorities and communicate effectively.

Occasional travel may be required for donor meetings fundraising events conferences or organizational gatherings. Travel-related physical demands may include the ability to travel independently sit or stand for extended periods during meetings or events navigate airports and event venues lift or carry light materials (such as presentation materials or personal luggage typically up to 20 pounds) and participate in in-person meetings or presentations. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position offers the flexibility to work remotely with job tasks completed at a desk with minimal if any interaction with Chileda students or clients. Communication will be primarily through virtual meetings email and collaboration tools to ensure a seamless remote work experience. This position will be issued a Chileda laptop and the equipment necessary to perform the roles main functions.
