Rate of Pay: 19.67 - 24.75 per hour
Summary:
The SEND Assessment & Review Officer will act as the single point of contact for children young people families and professionals throughout the Education Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment and review process. The role ensures compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice 2015 while managing a complex caseload and supporting high-quality outcome-focused EHC Plans.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact from the start of the EHC needs assessment through to the final EHC Plan
- Coordinate and manage EHC needs assessments and annual reviews in line with statutory requirements
- Draft high-quality aspirational and outcome-focused EHC Plans in co-production with families and young people
- Work closely with schools colleges and training providers providing advice challenge and support
- Manage a complex caseload and respond to changing SEND needs of children and young people
- Represent the Local Authority at mediation meetings tribunals monitoring meetings and panels
Qualification:
- Good general standard of education equivalent to A level including GCSE English
Essentials:
- Experience drafting EHC Plans or SEN statements
- Experience working directly with schools colleges or training providers
- Strong knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice 2015

- This role requires an Enhanced DBS
