Job Duties
The Youth & Family Studio Programs Intern will spend 12-14 weeks working up to 39 hours/week in Youth & Family Studio Programs learning about careers in museum and art education gaining hands-on teaching experience with K-12 programs gathering insight into curriculum and program development and collaborating with other VMFA departments.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate should have:
-a background in studio art and/or some experience teaching children;
-strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences both orally and in writing;
-the ability to move around frequently be physically active and have the strength to move studio equipment (tables chairs heavy bins of supplies etc.);
-experience using Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programs;
-excellent organizational skills; and
-a willingness to learn take initiative and jump in where needed to support team efforts.
Additional Considerations
The selected candidate must pass a criminal history background check.
