The Team
The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre is a program of Provincial Services Division of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The Maples is a designated provincial mental health facility providing on-site community outreach and ancillary services to collaboratively support youth families and communities. The Maples target population consists of troubled youth in British Columbia with significant psychiatric and/or behavioural and/or emotional difficulties ages 12 to 17; as well as youth found Not Criminally Responsible by Reason of a Mental Disorder (NCRMD) or Unfit to Stand Trial under the Criminal Code of Canada & Youth Criminal Justice Act. Additional services include community consultation service training/capacity building opportunities and ongoing sharing of current literature. Through a multi-disciplinary approach our objective is to collaboratively enhance the capacity of communities to plan and care for challenging youth through a closer to home focus.
The Role
Under the direction of a Shift Supervisor or Program Coordinator the Nurse 4A performs vital work as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing direct comprehensive nursing care to clients at The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre. This position impacts the lives of youth families and communities by offering on-site community outreach and ancillary mental health services. About this Position:
There are two (2) permanent positions and three (3) temporary positions available. The temporary opportunities are until February 1 positions may be extended or become permanent.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
