About the Project
The East Rockingham Waste-to-Energy Project is a landmark facility in Western Australia that converts municipal and commercial waste into renewable energy. It will process up to 300000 tonnes of waste annually generating sustainable electricity for thousands of homes while reducing landfill. ACCIONA is delivering this complex infrastructure project with cutting-edge technology and a strong focus on environmental outcomes.
About the Opportunity
As Senior Commissioning Engineer Grid Compliance you will lead grid connection approvals electrical integration and commissioning for this major project. Acting as the primary technical interface with Western Power and AEMO you will manage the full connection lifecycle oversee HV grid interface design (11 kV to 132 kV) and ensure compliance with Australian standards. You will collaborate with EPC contractors OEMs and operations teams to achieve grid compliance and smooth transition to operations.
Key Accountabilities
Lead grid connection and regulatory approvals
Negotiate Generator Performance Standards
Manage model validation and Hold Point releases
Oversee HV electrical design and integration
Develop and implement commissioning plans
Coordinate testing and operational readiness
Required Skills and Competencies
Electrical engineering degree
10 years in HV power systems
5 years leading grid connections in Australia
Expertise in transformers switchgear protection
Strong stakeholder engagement skills
