The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work
This position is located at Craven Correctional Institution a medium custody male felon diagnostic processing center with a maximum population of 850 inmates that is located in Vanceboro NC.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Basic knowledge of spelling punctuation and vocabulary. Basic knowledge of office practices and procedures. Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices. Ability to arrange and place records reports files and other documents into a defined sequence. Ability to screen and refer communications using defined procedures. Ability to use a variety of standard office equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to learn the use of special office equipment. Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations.Minimum Education and Experience
