Recruitment Range: $58613 - $90000

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits including health insurance as well as retirement This position is Remote with up to 15% travel may be required for training meetings and technical support. This position is posted as a 40-hour work week; however management may consider applicants for a 32-hour work week. If a candidate is hired for a 32-hour work week the salary will be prorated.

Description of Work:

The Review Examiner/Training Coordinator will perform various functions associated with North Carolina state- chartered credit unions and the Division ensuring the examination and the training programs comply with internal policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Reviewing Work Reviews examination reports and other related documentation to ensure ratings narratives issues and actions are appropriate effective and comply with State and Federal requirements and Division policies and procedures.

Applications Ensures final edits to examination reports are updated within the Modern Examination & Risk Identification Tool (MERIT). Participates in NCUA MERIT working groups.

Communicating Keeps Division management informed of the status of examinations and issues on a continuing basis through various methods including telephone email virtual meetings and face-to-face communications.

Training Responsible for overseeing the training function. Coordinates with the Examination Manager and executive staff to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for Division employees. Disseminates new or updated compliance materials to examiners. Ensures Division employees receive the needed training to meet and maintain all industry certifications and professional designations. Attends external training meetings. Gathers feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session and documents accordingly. Proactively seeks training opportunities for Division employees.

Monitoring Ensures examination responses are reviewed and acknowledges receipt.

The selected candidate will undergo and must successfully complete a background check which includes a name-based and fingerprint-based criminal history record check. Pre-employment checks are required for this position.

Division of Credit Union

The North Carolina Credit Union Division (NCCUD) is a regulatory agency that operates under the supervision of the Administrator of Credit Unions. The NCCUDs purpose is to advocate and assist in the formation of credit unions to ensure the safety and soundness of the credit unions and their compliance with applicable laws through examinations and other means and to fulfill supervisory responsibilities in an effective and professional manner.

Applicants who possess the following qualifications may receive management preference:

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing financial institution data and financial ratios using Financial Performance reports Uniform Banking Performance Reports Call Reports and/or other industry specific reports to conduct examinations.

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating training programs.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial institution operations regulations and CAMELS and risk rating system definitions.

  • Problem-solving skills to determine if draft Reports of Examinations meet compliance with State and Federal laws rules regulations and standard report formats.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated advanced experience and knowledge of grammar punctuation style and formatting for professional business writing.

Bachelors degree in accounting banking finance business administration economics or related discipline from an accredited institution and 3 years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
