A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is currently working with a number of mainstream primary and secondary schools SEMH provisions and alternative education settings in Hanwell to recruit committed and emotionally intelligent Behaviour Mentors. These schools support pupils who present with challenging behaviour emotional dysregulation trauma-related needs anxiety and social communication difficulties and they are seeking professionals who can offer calm structured and consistent support.
As a Behaviour Mentor in Hanwell you will play a key role in supporting pupils who struggle to manage their behaviour within a school environment. Many of the pupils you support may have SEMH needs Autism ADHD attachment difficulties or adverse childhood experiences that impact their ability to engage positively with learning.
You will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis within small intervention groups or across classrooms to help reduce behaviour incidents and improve some settings you may support pupils in withdrawal or reflection spaces helping them regulate emotions and reintegrate successfully into lessons.
Deliver structured behaviour and emotional support in line with behaviour plans
Support pupils to recognise triggers and develop regulation strategies
Use calm de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches
Reinforce school routines boundaries and expectations
Build positive trusting relationships with pupils
Act as a consistent role model and point of stability
Support pupils during transitions breaks and high-risk times
Work collaboratively with teachers SENCOs and pastoral teams
Maintain accurate behaviour progress and safeguarding records

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
Backgrounds in youth work care mentoring or education welcomed
Calm resilient and emotionally intelligent
Confident managing challenging behaviour
Strong communication and teamwork skills
