A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is working with a number of inclusive mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions in Hendon to recruit dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants. These roles are available across Early Years Primary and Secondary settings offering flexible and long-term opportunities for candidates with a passion for SEN education.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Hendon you will support pupils who require additional help to access learning and thrive within the school environment. Pupils may present with a wide range of needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD SEMH speech and language difficulties moderate learning difficulties and sensory processing needs.
You may be supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis working with small intervention groups or assisting across the classroom under the direction of the class some schools you may work within specialist SEN resource bases attached to mainstream schools providing targeted and structured support.
The role requires patience consistency and a calm approach particularly when supporting pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation or social interaction.
Provide targeted SEN support in line with EHCPs and individual learning plans
Support pupils with emotional regulation behaviour and social skills
Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons and activities
Encourage independence confidence and positive self-esteem
Support pupils during transitions break times and sensory activities
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs
Maintain accurate records and contribute to review meetings where appropriate
Follow safeguarding behaviour and inclusion policies at all times

Previous experience working with children with SEN (education care youth work or support roles)
