About the Role:
We are seeking a Verification & Validation Engineer (Level 2) to join our R&D organization in Västerås. In this role you will perform product and system testing of Protection & Control solutionssuch as the Relion 670/650 seriesused in substation automation. Testing is conducted during product development phases prior to product release. You will work closely with a dedicated team consisting of five test engineers and a test lead contributing to high-quality reliable products that meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining test specifications based on product requirements

• Configuring products and systems prior to testing in accordance with specifications and substation automation standards

• Establishing and supervising test setups including auxiliary equipment and wiring

• Automating test cases where applicable to improve efficiency and coverage

• Executing functional system and integration tests

• Analyzing documenting and reporting test results

• Ensuring electrical safety during all testing activities

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• 25 years of practical experience within substation automation

• Hands-on experience with protection relays and/or substation automation systems

• Strong knowledge of substation automation standards such as IEC 61850

• Good understanding of communication protocols and distributed systems

• Experience with protection and control products in R&D environments

• Structured detail-oriented approach to testing and documentation

• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High focus on quality safety and compliance
