Essential Duties and Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Testing
-
Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed test plans test scenarios and test cases
-
Perform functional integration and regression testing for Java-based applications on distributed platforms
-
Execute test program changes update test files run test cycles and validate results against defined requirements
-
Identify document track and retest defects to ensure timely resolution
-
Validate application behavior data integrity and system outputs prior to production releases
Database & Technical Testing
-
Perform hands-on database testing using Postgres and DB2
-
Develop and execute SQL queries for data validation reconciliation and verification
-
Troubleshoot data issues and validate backend processing results
-
Support testing of applications interacting with mainframe environments (IBM/DELL)
Tools Documentation & Collaboration
-
Utilize Jira for test management defect tracking and status reporting
-
Prepare comprehensive program-level and user-level documentation to support the SDLC
-
Work closely with developers business analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues
-
Provide clear guidance and coordination to testing teams to meet project milestones and tight deadlines
-
Obtain user sign-off on testing results prior to production deployment
Education
Minimum Qualifications
-
Minimum 5 years of experience testing Java-based applications
-
Proven hands-on experience with DB2 and Postgres databases
-
Strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
-
Experience writing executing and managing test cases and integration testing
-
Ability to troubleshoot test and debug software to achieve required outcomes
-
Strong analytical skills to:
-
Experience preparing detailed technical and user documentation
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Experience following organizational standards for source code checkout migration and deployments
-
Demonstrated commitment to improving software efficiency and reducing operating time
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Java programming knowledge

Hands-on experience with AWS

Experience with Kofax

Prior experience working with the Georgia Department of Labor or similar government agencies
