Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Family Law Paralegal to support our attorneys in all aspects of family law cases including divorce child custody support and related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. This role requires familiarity with New Jersey family law procedures and court systems.
Key Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in preparing family law cases including divorce child custody support and domestic violence matters

Draft file and serve legal documents such as complaints motions subpoenas affidavits and discovery requests

Maintain case files track deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and local regulations
-
Coordinate with clients opposing counsel and court personnel
-
Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys

Prepare exhibits documentation and trial binders for hearings and trials
-
Schedule hearings depositions and client meetings
-
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and procedural updates
-
Assist with billing time tracking and administrative tasks as needed
Required Qualifications

Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in family law
-
Minimum 2 5 years of experience as a paralegal preferably in family law
-
Strong understanding of New Jersey family law statutes court rules and procedures

Experience with electronic filing systems (eCourts NJ courts portal)

Excellent organizational written and verbal communication skills

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and legal case management software
Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes

Experience preparing financial disclosures and support calculations

Ability to draft settlement agreements and parenting plans
