Our client an Am Law 200 firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to support its patent prosecution practice.
What Were Looking For
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Paralegal with 3 years of experience in patent prosecution either in a law firm or in-house setting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment can manage a high volume of filings and deadlines and has a strong track record of accurately handling patent applications and docketing responsibilities.
Experience with document management systems and patent docketing software is strongly preferred.
What Youll Do
Prepare file and manage U.S. and international patent applications including provisional non-provisional PCT and national phase filings
Oversee and maintain the patent docket ensuring all deadlines are accurately tracked and met
Coordinate closely with attorneys foreign associates and clients regarding filing requirements deadlines and case status updates
Draft and review USPTO-related documents including Office Action responses and Information Disclosure Statements (IDSs)
Prepare and manage formal papers from inventors including Powers of Attorney
Process and track incoming communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to ensure timely responses
Maintain organized patent prosecution files and electronic records
Qualifications
3 years of patent prosecution experience (law firm or corporate legal department)
Demonstrated experience preparing and filing U.S. and international patent applications
Experience coordinating with foreign associates for international filings preferred
Proficiency with patent docketing systems and document management platforms
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
