Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Engineer to ensure compliance with health safety and environmental (HSE) standards across operations. The role involves implementing safety systems conducting audits and reviews and promoting a strong safety culture particularly within ship repair shipbuilding or industrial environments.
Job Responsibilities :
- Implement monitor and enforce HSE policies and procedures at the workplace.
- Lead and conduct periodic safety review meetings and toolbox talks.
- Prepare and maintain periodic safety compliance reports records and documentation.
- Develop and update HSE procedures safety checklists formats and risk assessment documents.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections audits and hazard identification exercises.
- Provide safety induction and ongoing safety training to employees contractors and visitors.
- Investigate incidents near misses and accidents; prepare reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with operations maintenance and management teams to address safety concerns proactively.
Job Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial or relevant discipline).
- Mandatory Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- 35 years of relevant experience in ship repairs shipbuilding or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards safety audits and statutory compliance.
- Experience in conducting safety meetings preparing reports and delivering safety training.
- Good communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple safety initiatives effectively.
