The Plumber is responsible for installing maintaining and repairing plumbing systems throughout the hotel to ensure uninterrupted water supply sanitation and guest comfort. The role supports smooth hotel operations while maintaining safety hygiene and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install maintain and repair water supply lines drainage systems fixtures and fittings.
- Attend guest room plumbing complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain bathrooms kitchens laundries swimming pools and public area plumbing systems.
- Inspect plumbing systems to identify leaks blockages or potential issues.
- Repair or replace damaged pipes valves faucets flush systems pumps and sanitary fittings.
- Ensure proper functioning of hot and cold water systems boilers and water heaters.
- Carry out preventive maintenance as per the maintenance schedule.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments for room maintenance.
- Maintain water conservation practices and control water wastage.
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety hygiene and environmental standards.
- Maintain records of work orders repairs and spare parts used.
- Assist during emergencies such as pipe bursts flooding or water supply failure.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Basic understanding of hotel engineering operations.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
- Awareness of safety procedures and hygiene standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI / Trade Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent.
- 25 years of plumbing experience preferably in a hotel or commercial property.
- Knowledge of local plumbing codes and standards is an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts including weekends and holidays.
- On-call duty for emergency maintenance.
- Physically demanding work involving lifting bending and confined spaces.
