About the role

McNab and our Data analytics team is growing this is an exciting time to join our dynamic team. As Data Engineer at McNab you will design and build robust data ingestion pipelines and data modelling while establishing data warehouse solutions using Azure and Snowflake. Upon successful delivery of initial projects you may have an opportunity to expand into data science and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines from various sources.
Continuously improve and optimize existing data pipelines for performance and scalability.
Model data from API outputs into a relational format.
Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Provide support to ensure secure access to data for necessary teams and meet data quality and governance requirements.

About you

At least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
A degree in a data-related discipline computer science information systems or related field; or equivalent experience demonstrating a transition into Data Engineering.
Experience with any major cloud provider (Azure AWS GCP).
A strong ability to document your work in a clear and detailed manner.
A natural aptitude to work autonomously and are comfortable working within a team environment.
A strong ability to collaborate and articulate your solutions and ideas to your team.
Proficient in Python for data processing and competent at parsing complex JSON data structures.
An expert in SQL including database optimization and security.
Experienced with Git and GitHub Actions (or equivalents).
Familiar with common Azure resources such as Virtual Machines Function Apps Logic Apps etc.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Experience with Snowflake is highly desired.
Experience working with Apache Airflow is highly desired.
Experience working in or alongside Data Science DevOps or Software Engineering teams.
