Commercial Banking Rotational Internship (Office of Chief Data & Analytics, Business Enablement and Strategic Initiatives), Summer 2026 4 Months

This internship is designed to give you a broad hands-on experience across multiple areas of Commercial Banking. Over the course of the program you will rotate through different teams gaining exposure to areas such as data analytics AI strategy workforce effectiveness.

Youll work on real business challenges collaborate with experienced professionals and learn how different functions come together to drive success in a dynamic financial environment. The program emphasizes:

What Youll Do

As a rotational intern you will work on projects across different teams. Responsibilities will differ based on the rotation and may include:

• Analyzing business trends and patterns to support decision-making.
• Optimizing and automating reporting processes for scalability.
• Building dashboards and visualizations to provide actionable insights.
• Supporting data governance and quality initiatives
• Assisting in developing curated data models and strategies
• Conducting industry and competitive research to inform strategic decisions.
• Assisting in developing business cases and recommendations for new initiatives.
• Supporting strategic planning and execution of key projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (business analytics data science or related field).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with data tools (Excel SQL Python Tableau) is a plus.
• Interest in commercial banking data and strategy.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
