As a Locum Anesthesiologist you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality anesthetic services ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our practice making a significant impact on patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthetics to patients undergoing various surgical procedures
- Monitor patients vital signs and adjust anesthetic levels as needed
- Consult with surgeons and medical staff to develop anesthetic plans
- Provide pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards of care
- Educate patients and their families about anesthesia and recovery
- Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of New York
- Completion of an accredited residency in Anesthesiology
- Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex cases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced on-site environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
- Prior experience in a locum or similar role is preferred
Level II Trauma
Schedule: 7a-5p
Beeper call shifts required
Case Volume: 9k surgical cases per year 3-4 CV cases per day
12 ORs 9 NORAs
Case Types: Trauma orthopedics spine vascular endo EP lab and limited neuro; no OB or transplants
Cardiac Caseload: TAVRs mitral clips CABG EP watchman etc.
Care Team Model: 9 MDs 16 APPs
Supervision required
EMR: Medaxion and Meditech
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
