Key Responsibilities
* Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
* Administer prescribed medications and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
* Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary
* Document patient care according to regulatory and institutional standards
* Collaborate with psychiatrists psychologists and other healthcare professionals
* Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions
* Educate patients about mental health conditions and treatment options
* Ensure compliance with security protocols while delivering compassionate care
Qualifications
* Current Missouri RN license in good standing
* Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience
* BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
* Experience with electronic medical records
* Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Compassionate approach to patient care
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have
* Previous correctional or forensic nursing experience
* Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Certification (PMH-BC)
* Crisis prevention/intervention training
* Experience with substance abuse treatment
* Spanish language proficiency a plus
