Job Summary

The Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at Tulane University ( invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin July 1 2026. We seek innovative and collaborative candidates whose research focuses on developmental or regenerative vascular biology particularly those employing microphysiological systems organoids induced pluripotent stem cells and/or other innovative models or new approach methodologies to study vascular development and function. The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collegial department that spans developmental and neuroscience research and is expected to establish a vigorous independent research program mentor graduate students and contribute to both undergraduate and graduate teaching within the department.

The Departments unique position housed within the School of Science and Engineering (SSE) provides exceptional opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and supports the development of cutting-edge research and educational initiatives at the intersection of psychological science and the broader STEM fields. SSE is distinctive as the only academic unit at a major research university to merge the behavioral sciences physical sciences life sciences engineering and mathematics which provides an unusually rich environment for innovative programs and interdisciplinary addition opportunities for collaboration exist through the Tulane School of Medicine Tulane Cancer Center the Tulane National Primate Research Center and the Tulane Brain Institute as well as core facilities supporting imaging genomics and bioengineering. Tulane University one of the nations premier research institutions is a member of the prestigious American Association of Universities and is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as an R1 (Very High Research Activity) and Community Engaged university.
