Middle School Math & Science Teacher

As The International School of Texas (IST) continues to grow we announce our search for a full-time Middle School Math & ScienceTeacher to begin duties in August 2026. This positions primary responsibility will be to teach International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP) students. This position will join a team of highly qualified motivated and professional educators in our Secondary Division.

IST students become lifelong learners as they progress through the MYP learning in a collaborative and inquiry-based environment. The primary responsibilities of this position include the planning and preparation of highly engaging rigorous mathematics and science lessons while documenting and tailoring instructional practices to best meet the needs of the will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The Lead Teacher must have experience teaching middle school. The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic inquiry-based or project-based learning. This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom.

In addition to teaching responsibilities IST faculty have the opportunity to lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience. From soccer and art clubs to robotics coding and cross-country IST Trailblazers take their learning outside of the classroom through their participation in clubs and teams that enrich their bodies and minds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• • Bachelors Degree or higher in a related field.
  • Masters Degree preferred and increased stipend rewarded.
  • Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience.
  • Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required
