Activate is a tech company known for creating Canadas first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion and are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Financial Analyst. TheFinancialAnalyst works closely with Finance Sales Operations andActivatespartners to support financial planning forecasting and rolefocuses on analyzing sales costs and profitability across Activate locations and manufacturing operations while providing insights that support informed business decisions. This is a full-time permanent position.
The Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis Planning & Forecasting
- Analyzehistoricaland currentfinancialperformanceincluding sales costs and profitability at the Activate location and manufacturing levels.
- Prepare and update monthly quarterly and annual forecasts and budgets in collaboration with Finance and business partners.
- Develop andmaintainfinancial models to supportbudgeting forecasting and scenarioplanning.
- Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecast; investigate discrepancies and providerecommendations.
- Partnerwith Operations and Sales toensure forecasts and budgets reflectunderlyingbusiness activity and supportActivatesgoals.
- Support strategic planning by assessing business and economic trends and theirfinancial impact.
Reporting& Insights
- Prepare monthly quarterly and ad hocfinancialreports for leadershipthathighlight key trends and drivers.
- Develop andmaintaindashboards KPIs and performance tracking tools to support decision-making.
- Assistwithmonth-end close by reviewing results andsupportingmanagement reporting.
Business Partnership & Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate withOperations Sales and other teamstoensurefinancialplans align with operational and strategicobjectives.
- Providefinancial insightsto help teams manage costsoptimizeinventory andimproveoperationalobjectives.
- Communicatecomplex financial dataand analysis in a clear and practical manner to non-finance stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identifyopportunities to streamlinefinancial analysisprocesses improve reporting and increase forecasting efficiency.
- Support documentation of financial planning and reporting processes to ensure consistencyand best practices.
- Support automation of models and reports to save time and increase accuracy.
The Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field.
- Professional designation (CPA CFA) is an asset.
- 2 years of experience in FP&A corporate finance or financial analysis.
- Experience in retail multi-location or manufacturing environments is an asset
- Strongproficiencyin Excel including financial modeling reportingand data analysis;ERP experienceis preferred.
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI Tableau etc.) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Excellent analytical problem-solvingskills with aresults-orientedmindset.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
