Job Summary
Whats the role
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of major infrastructure solutions. Youll work closely with stakeholders to turn business needs into clear technical designs and support those designs through to implementation. Youll play a critical role in shaping infrastructure solutions that enable business change. Youll ensure designs are aligned to standards fit for purpose and deliver lasting value through secure and scalable implementations. Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide expert advice and consulting across the infrastructure domain to project teams and stakeholders
- Design infrastructure solutions that meet business security operational and performance requirements
- Ensure solutions align with approved platforms architectural standards and reference patterns
- Develop design artefacts that define infrastructure components capture key decisions and demonstrate alignment with standards and delivery needs
- Document assumptions constraints and architectural trade-offs in a clear and structured way
- Apply business context delivery constraints and risk posture to ensure solutions are fit for purpose
- Provide accurate estimates for infrastructure solutions including CAPEX and OPEX
- Present solution designs to governance forums and clearly explain rationale and trade-offs
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support delivery teams through build integration testing and transition to production
You bring design experience across modern infrastructure stacks including cloud midrange network storage and security. You understand where each technology fits how to align it to architectural standards and how to guide teams through delivery.
- Public cloud platforms including AWS and Azure (certification desirable)
- SaaS integration patterns using Private Link and Private Endpoints
- Akamai for content delivery and edge security
- DNS-based traffic routing technologies such as Infoblox and Route 53
- Containerisation using OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Windows and Linux operating systems
- Software-defined compute platforms and virtualisation technologies
- Oracle SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases
- Middleware platforms including Kafka MQ JBoss Tomcat WebSphere and DataPower
- Integration with service mesh technologies
- Load balancing using platforms such as F5 NGINX or cloud-native equivalents
- Identity access and encryption infrastructure using Active Directory Entra ID Ping PKI HSM and WebSEAL
- Observability and alerting with Splunk AppDynamics and ServiceNow (SNOW)
- Infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Git Jenkins Ansible)
