Lead Preschool Counselor for Noah's Ark Summer Camp

SUMMARY:Noahs Ark Summer Camp is about discovery exploration and friendships. We provide children with incredible experiences both indoors and outdoors including swim sports music and movement nature and gardening farm to table cooking art experiences Jewish values weekly Shabbat sing-a-longs and so much more! Our camp counselors work collaboratively to take advantage of all that summer has to offer leaving campers with a memorable summer a Lead Camp Counselor you are responsible for providing a safe and stimulating environment which allows children to develop a sense of independence and encourages mutual respect. You will develop daily activities and experiences that promote discovery increase childrens awareness and problem-solving skills inspires them to delve deeper in their learning and explorations and express their a Lead Counselor you are primarily responsible for communicating information to parents and the director regularly. You would develop and implement a high-quality camp program for the children which reflects the vision and values of the Noahs Ark and the JCC as a whole. WHO YOU ARE:Required: Bachelors degree in a child related field from an accredited college or university or the ability to meet Maryland requirements for employment in a preschool setting with mandated coursework completed (90 Hours Certification)Minimum of 2 years experience working with childrenStrong communication skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to relate to young children and adultsAbility to actively engage with children in a developmentally appropriate mannerWorking knowledge of the growth and development of young children and ability to utilize this information Ability to act independently in the classroom settingAbility and willingness to work with a teamPossesses Certifications and coursework required by Licensing or willingness to complete (CPR Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Developmental Screening ADA Breastfeeding for Infant Toddler staff Basic Health and Safety COVID Course)Ability to multitask and maintain proper ratios/supervision at all timesAbility to recognize safety hazards and protect children from harmWHAT YOU WILL DO:Teaching Plan and implement daily activities according to developmentally appropriate practices and school valuesNurture physical spiritual emotional social and intellectual growth and development of each childProvide care protection and guidance to the childrenAdministrative & ClassroomMaintain a cheerful nurturing healthy safe and clean environmentMaintain attendance milk injury developmental recordsMaintain storage organization and cleanliness of equipment and materialsCommunication & CommunityCommunicate regularly with Director including all concerns regarding campersParticipate in regular staff meetingsCommunicate regularly with parentsPost daily on our parent portal BrightwheelProtect the rights and privacy of children and families by maintaining strict confidentiality according to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conductwork enviroNment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
