Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Claims Adjuster
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Claims Adjuster to join a team. This role involves providing quality investigation and analysis to adjust commercial Michigan PIP and bodily injury auto claims including both litigated and non-litigated matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims handling excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Compensation Package
- Pay Rate: $38-$45 per hour
- Employment Type: Temp-to-hire
- Start Date: Immediate
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations of losses verify coverage evaluate liability and damages and determine compensability independently.
- Engage in negotiations with other parties and settle claims in accordance with claims handling guidelines.
- Review and analyze documents and legal pleadings using expertise in the field.
- Establish and maintain accurate reserves for each claim to reflect financial exposure.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with agents policyholders and internal stakeholders regarding claims and the book of business.
- Partner with legal counsel to manage litigated claims.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling Michigan PIP claims (experience with bodily injury claims preferred but not required).
- AIC or SCLA certification is preferred.
- Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within the department across the organization and with external customers.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with internal and external customers.
- Proven negotiation skills.
