Are you detail-oriented and ready to manage core transactional processes Join us as a Regional Finance Assistant providing essential financial administrative support to the management team by undertaking transactional accounting and clerical duties. Your focus will be on ensuring all financial procedures comply with statutory guidelines financial regulations and Trust policies.
As Regional Finance assistant you will be based in Outwood Academy Carlton Royston Lane Carlton Barnsley S71 3EW. It may be requested that you support other Academies in the Community full clean driving licence required.
Outwood Academy Carlton is an Ofsted Good rated 11- 16 academy based in the friendly attractive village of Carlton in Barnsley South Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2016.
In October 2024 Ofsted noted that students are taught to be good human beings as part of the ethos at Outwood Academy Carlton and that they have a strong moral code and behave well in and outside of lessons including contributing to the wider community. Ofsted also noted that leaders are determined that all students should succeed and be well prepared for life through a curriculum that develops their knowledge skills and character. The Finance Assistant provides financial administrative support by undertaking transactional accounting and clerical duties. Key responsibilities involve carrying out all financial procedures accurately and timely.
Duties include making accounting entries manually and via financial systems monthly balance sheet reconciliation and managing physical cash collection and banking. The role co-ordinates the purchase of goods and supplies ensuring the school obtains best value for money. The Finance Assistant also deals with queries regarding suppliers and budget account holders and organises staff business travel and transport for school visits.
Candidates must be ICT literate skilled at using Microsoft Excel and comfortable using other Microsoft applications. Essential skills include excellent analytical skills with great attention to detail. Requires the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and to deal with orders invoices and payment reconciliations. An Accountancy qualification or studying towards one (AAT ACCA etc.) is desirable.
