How you make an impact
The Nuclear Services Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of nuclear engineers and radiation control personnel. The Nuclear Services Manager develops and manages team and individual Key Performance Indications (KPIs) ensures succinct coordination communication and ultimate success with desired project outcomes and meeting company objectives.
What you need to succeed

  • Bachelors degree in nuclear engineering health physics or other related technical field or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of direct nuclear engineering/health physics experience in R&D or Production/Manufacturing environments
  • 8 years of progressive positions within nuclear engineering
  • 5 years of supervisory experience including day-to-day activities of a team of 10 or more with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams establish career development tracks and succession planning
  • Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization appreciates the history of current state know how and when to make suggestions as well as using just the right pace to reach the improved future state.
  • Understands your own communication and learning styles can assess others styles and is able to find the right path to connect the two.
  • Develops and maintains good relationships gains the confidence of others and works effectively in a multidisciplinary matrix environment
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking with creative and excellent problem solving and decision-making skills with ability to critically interpret and use data to manage risk
  • Possesses a strong interest and ability to lead and develop staff and teams
  • Strong nuclear and mechanical aptitude
  • Understands Quality Systems and their successful implementation
  • Knowledge of applicable GMP and related pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations
Great to have
  • Masters degree or PhD in Nuclear Engineering Health Physics or related technical field
  • 12 years of progressive positions in nuclear engineering
  • 8 years of supervisory experience including day-to-day activities of a team of 20 with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams establish career development tracks and succession planning
  • 3 years leading teams in the R&D environment. Proven record of successful launch of product developments and success solving complex nuclear problems
  • 3 years working within Quality Management Systems and design control processes in regulated industries such as Medical or Nuclear (DOE or NRC regulated)
  • 3 years working directly with customers and commercial teams to identify project opportunities and building statements of work quotes or other requirements documentation
  • Hands-on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing 5S)
Other things to know
  • Full-time position.
  • The companys standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6a 6p with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts.
This position will have regular working hours during M F with an expectation of adjusting to meeting the shift work requirements for production and to meet with staff working outside of the standards operating hours as needed.
  • Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area. Travel between locations is expected in the role.
