Description

The Africa South Area Materials Management Support Services Retail Store helps the Church accomplish its religious mission by providing standard support services of helping customers to make informed product decisions.This position helps make gospel teachings resources and services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way. The purpose of this position is to provide vision direction and development to distribution outlets (retail stores) area wide. The incumbent provides training and support to maintain global standards for store operations inventory management customer service and product information/presentation.The role reports to the Area Distribution Manager and is located in Parktown Johannesburg South Africa.



Responsibilities

  • 20% - Provide vision and best practices to store supervisors regarding all aspects of managing a retail store including personnel management inventory levels and product assortments selling cost ratios security standards for IT and sacred clothing shipping schedules and creating standards for financial and operational issues.

  • 20% - Travel to stores throughout assigned area audit best practices and act as a liaison for Temple Presidencies.

  • 20% - Hire train review and manage performance of Store Supervisors and associates on product knowledge merchandising annual goals operational procedures and provide daily technical support.

  • 15% - Analyse data and global store performance metrics to provide recommendations to Store Supervisors for influencing key operating indicators.

  • 15% - Coordinate with DTA Materials Management Manager Retail Operations Manager and Global Retail Process Manager to establish and report on key management indicators goals and facility or personnel needs; assist with Annual Planning process.

  • 5% - Work with architects building designers and FM project supervisors on the construction and set-up of new stores and coordinate improvements to existing store locations.

  • 5% - Meet annually with Temple Presidents Recorders and Laundry Supervisors to obtain feedback on quality and performance of Distribution products and services.



Qualifications
  • Must be an endowed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a current Temple Recommend.

    Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelors degree in business management Marketing or Retail Management or related field plus a minimum of six years experience in retailing and merchandising

  • Minimum of four years experience in supervisory function
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential
  • Ability to manage and motivate people
  • Ability to train employees of various learning abilities to perform social and complex functions;
  • Ability to understand financial and budgeting procedures
  • Ability to change and adapt in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to set up computer component systems in a POS setting
  • Advanced understanding of marketing and visual display techniques
  • Basic understanding of fabric construction and style preferred
  • International experience strongly preferred
  • Second language ability strongly preferred
