As the leader of our pastry department you will be responsible for creating exceptional desserts and pastries that delight our guests while managing a talented team of pastry professionals.
- Oversee the daily operations of the pastry kitchen ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Develop and implement new dessert menus incorporating local flavors and international trends
- Lead and mentor a team of pastry chefs fostering a culture of creativity and excellence
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
- Manage inventory control costs and optimize resource utilization
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Participate in special events and promotions showcasing innovative pastry creations
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills of the pastry team
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into the pastry program
Qualifications :
- Advanced degree in Culinary Arts Pastry Arts or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant setting
- Proven track record of managing and leading a pastry team
- Exceptional skills in cake decorating chocolate work and sugar artistry
- Strong knowledge of classical and modern pastry techniques
- Creativity and innovation in developing unique dessert concepts
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in inventory management and cost control
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus
- Familiarity with Malaysian cuisine and local ingredients is highly desirable
- Food safety certification (e.g. ServSafe)
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
