Job Summary

About the Role

Glenorchy City Council is seeking a customer-focused ICT Technical Officer to deliver timely and accurate technical support to Council employees and stakeholders. The role is responsible for resolving day-to-day ICT issues maintaining quality service records and supporting the effective operation of the ICT Team to ensure reliable and responsive services across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely technical triage resolution and escalation of ICT requests and incidents for Council staff and stakeholders.
  • Support onboarding by assisting new staff with system access hardware setup and basic ICT guidance.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent service desk records for all ICT requests and incidents.
  • Create modify and manage user accounts and access across systems including O365 Active Directory and TechOne.
  • Provide basic ICT security support including MFA assistance password management and access troubleshooting.
  • Set up manage and track ICT hardware and equipment including asset allocation and stock monitoring.
  • Install and support approved software applications and manage application licences.
  • Contribute to ICT knowledge resources and work collaboratively with the ICT team to improve service delivery.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate IV in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in an ITIL-based service desk environment (minimum two years).
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments with exposure to PowerShell scripting.
  • Knowledge of ICT documentation practices and audio-visual technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse prioritise and resolve ICT incidents efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Current drivers licence.
